Jill Lang is a writer and yoga teacher from the Canadian prairies who now calls Vancouver Island on the West Coast of Canada her home. She graduated from the University of Victoria in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing, Journalism & English Lit, and she has been serving the people yoga since 2009.
Jill is an Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Applications of Yoga at the 500-hour level as certified by International Yoga Alliance standards. Jill specializes in movement instruction and self-development coaching. Her yoga specialties encompass kriya, namaskar and asana—including classical, vinyasa, core, and yin styles in the Shakti Tantra or goddess tradition of yoga. Her teaching style is evolutionary and athletic, not acrobatic. On and off the mat, Jill is deeply passionate about yoga, science, mysticism, and God-realization. Beyond movement education, Jill focuses on teaching people about the importance of sharpening character as well as the power of the mind.
Notable publications Jill has been an arts columnist for include Homes & Living Magazine and NICHE magazine. Jill held two arts columns with Homes & Living Magazine, one called “H&L’s Galleria” and the other covering the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria beat. Her columns in NICHE magazine were called “Arts & Finds” and “Well Now!” She has also been a health and hard news writer for various other Black Press papers and Canadian publications.
Alongside yoga, Jill is a devoted astrology steward, which she brings to the heart of each coaching session. She leans on the cosmic blueprint to empower transformation through radical acceptance and love.
